Hélio Sousa: The small details will determine the result against Oman and our goal is to change our image
The press conference of Bahrain coach Hélio Sousa was held at 11:50 AM, Iraq time at the Siyab hall in Manawi Basha hotel to talk about the match between Bahrain and Oman in the Arabian Gulf semifinals.
Sousa said: “It is a difficult match, all teams are strong, now we are in the semifinals, Oman is a strong team and I expect a good match, everybody asked us to qualify and we hope to show a good performance.”
The Bahraini player Mehdi Abdullatif said: “Difficult match, we are prepared and our goal is to qualify to the finals, as players we vowed to win and to qualify.”
Sousa proceeded: “We are good, we played well against Kuwait, we crated chances and the goalkeeper stood out in saving the goal. We were better and we aimed to win, now we have to double the efforts against Oman.”
He continued: “The match in its results will rely on small details, both teams are good and balanced with clear and different visions and both will aim to possess.”
Sousa also mentioned: “We will try to change the image that was created after our match against Oman in the Arab cup, will fix the mistakes. We were able to break lots of obstacles after we came to Bahrain. We have to give our best and win.”
He concluded: “We played very well in the first round, we faced strong teams, but we still have lots of work to improve further. I believe in the players; the journey is long to improve. We are now in the Arabian Gulf Cup. We are qualifying among strong teams. We are better than the last championship, we have a big challenge and this makes this championship more difficult but we will aim to win and preserve the title.”
