Former Qatar Goalkeeper Ahmed Khalil: Gulf Cup Has Created an Important Legacy for Gulf Football

Ahmed Khalil, former goalkeeper of the Qatar national football team, praised the distinguished draw ceremony of the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup, which was held on Tuesday, at Culture Square within the Art Center of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Historic Jeddah.
The former Qatar goalkeeper stated that the tournament has established an important legacy for Gulf football, having witnessed the rise and success of many star players who remain present in the memories of fans across the region. He added that everyone is looking forward to an exceptional edition of the tournament next September in the city of Jeddah.
Ahmed Khalil also noted that the Gulf Cup carries a unique character due to the unparalleled media and fan attention it receives, which has made it one of the region’s most prestigious football tournaments.
The former “Al Annabi” goalkeeper said that the memories created through the Gulf Cup are what remain and continue to unite players, coaches, administrators, and media professionals alike. He also extended his appreciation to the Gulf Cup Football Federation, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, as well as all officials within the Federation and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.
