Qatar Announce Final Squad for FIFA World Cup 2026

Qatar national team head coach Julen Lopetegui has announced the final squad that will represent the country at the FIFA World Cup 2026, to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July.

The final 26-player squad comprises:

Goalkeepers: Meshaal Barsham, Mahmud Abunada, Salah Zakaria.

Outfield Players:
Ahmed Al Ganehi, Almoez Ali, Akram Afif, Edmilson Junior, Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Alaaeldin, Tahsin Mohammed, Pedro Miguel, Boualem Khoukhi, Ayoub Al Alawi, Al Hashmi Al Hussain, Assim Madibo, Sultan Al Brake, Hassan Al Haydos, Jassem Gaber, Mohamed Manai, Lucas Mendes, Karim Boudiaf, Aissa Laidouni, Abdulaziz Hatem, Youssef Abdurisag, Homam Ahmed, and Mohammed Muntari.

Two players were omitted from the final squad: goalkeeper Shehab Ellethy and midfielder Rayyan Al Ali. Julen Lopetegui had previously excluded seven players from the preliminary squad that began preparations for the World Cup: Sebastián Soria, Tarek Salman, Fahad Younis, Bassam Al Rawi, Mohammed Waad, Mubarak Shanan, and Niall Mason.

Qatar, who will make their first-ever World Cup appearance through qualification and their second overall appearance after hosting the tournament in 2022, have been holding their final training camp in Santa Barbara, United States. The camp will conclude with a friendly match against El Salvador on 6 June in Los Angeles.

The Qatari side will begin its World Cup campaign against Switzerland on 13 June in San Francisco, before travelling to Vancouver to face Canada on 18 June. The team will then conclude its Group Stage matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Seattle on 24 June.
