Gulf Cup 21st edition.. UAE champion for the second time.. Iraq runner-up

 

The Gulf Cup was held in its 21st edition in Manama from the 5th of January to the 18th of January, 2013 with the participation of the eight Gulf teams, and it was divided into two groups headed by Bahrain (the host), along with the Emirates, Qatar, and Oman, while Kuwait came at the head of the second group (the title holder), along with Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.
The UAE team qualified for the first group with 9 points, the Bahraini team ranked second with 4 points, Iraq qualified for the second group with 9 points, and Kuwait had 6 points.

In the semi-finals, the UAE beat Kuwait 1-0, Iraq beat Bahrain 4-2 on penalties, and in the third-place match, Kuwait beat Bahrain 6/1.

The Emirati team won its second title by defeating the Iraqi team 2/1 in a version that witnessed 36 goals scored over the course of 16 matches.

Abd al-Hadi Khamis and Ahmed Khalil won the tournament’s top scorer title with three goals each, Omar Abd al-Rahman won the best player award, Nour Sabri won the best goalkeeper award, and the Iraqi national team won the fair play award.
