Al Hilal crowned the Super Lusail Cup champion in the presence of more than 77,000 fans in the largest stadiums for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

Lusail Stadium, the largest stadium for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™️, welcomed more than 77,000 fans, in the Super Lusail Cup event, on a festive evening that witnessed an exciting match between Al Hilal Saudi clubs and Zamalek of Egypt, preceded by a public party for the star of the Arabic song, Amr Diab.

And about ten weeks before the start of the World Cup competitions expected next November; thousands of fans from inside and outside Qatar flocked to the Lusail World Cup Stadium, which will host the World Cup final on December 18, coinciding with the country’s National Day.

The audience of the event interacted with the distinguished singing performance of the star of the generations, Amr Diab, before the break between the two halves of the match witnessed the launch of the Arabic version of the official song for the Qatar World Cup 2022, “Welcome”, by the stars Nasser Al Kubaisi, Ayed and Hanin Hussein.

Al Hilal succeeded in winning the Super Lusail Cup title after defeating Zamalek FC, by penalty shootout (4-1), after the two teams tied 1-1 in the original time of the match.

His Excellency Mr. Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, expressed his happiness with the tremendous success of the Lusail Super Cup, saying: “Another night that we will not forget on the way to the largest sporting event in Qatar and the region. We witnessed a wonderful night with a special atmosphere that gave the fans a glimpse of what awaits them here on Qatar in November and December, and with only a few weeks left until the start of the World Cup, we reaffirm Qatar’s readiness to host a historic version of the World Cup.”

For his part, Engineer Yasser El-Gammal, Director General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, said: “Tonight thousands of fans witnessed Lusail Stadium, which is an amazing engineering feat, and fans from around the world will enjoy visiting it during the World Cup competitions. The eight World Cup stadiums are fully prepared to host the best football players in the world. The world, and fans from around the world later this year, and we will continue to work with our partners to ensure that an exceptional edition of the World Cup is hosted for the first time in the Arab world.”

It is noteworthy that Lusail Stadium will host ten matches during the World Cup competitions, starting with the match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia on November 22, and concluding with the final of the tournament and crowning the winner of the title on December 18.

The design and construction of the stadium has seen many sustainable practices adhere to, including the roof made of an advanced material that helps prevent wind and dust, and allows the penetration of sufficient sunlight necessary for the growth of grass on the pitch, while providing shade that contributes to reducing reliance on air-cooled technology. in the stadium.

In recognition of the commitment to sustainability standards during the design and construction phases; Lusail Stadium has received two GSAS certifications, from the five-star category in design and construction, and from the category of excellence in construction management.

The unique design of Lusail Stadium was inspired by the interplay of light and shadow that characterizes the traditional Arab lighthouse or lantern, while the stadium’s structure and facade reflect intricate inscriptions carried by food bowls, traditional utensils, and other pieces of art that spread throughout the Arab and Islamic world during the renaissance period in the region.

The Qatar 2022 World Cup will start on November 20 with the opening match between Qatar and Ecuador at Al Bayt Stadium, and conclude on December 18 at Lusail Stadium.
