Durgham Ismail.. the talented Iraqi linebacker who was prevented by injury from the Italian League

The talented defender, one of the best left-backs, who played in all age groups for Iraqi national teams. He played for the four popular clubs in Iraq: Al-Shorta, Al-Zawraa, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, and Al-Talaba. His injury prevented him from joining the Italian League.

He is currently the star of Iraq and the Bahraini Al-Khalidiya Club. Dhargham Ismail Daoud Al-Quraishi, who was born on May 23, 1994, in the city of Al-Amarah in Maysan Governorate. He began his sports career with Naft Maysan Club in the 2009/2010 season, and in the following season he moved to Al-Shorta, with whom he played 104 matches. During which he scored 21 goals, until 2015.

In August 2015, Durgham had a professional experience in Turkey, where he played for the Çakur Rizespor club, which is active in the Premier League, and he continued with it until 2018. He participated in 52 matches, scored a goal, and contributed during his first season to the team reaching the semi-finals of the Turkish Cup, but lost on a total. The two matches were against Galatasaray 1/3, and despite the team’s relegation to the first division, Dhargham continued his career with the team, which achieved the first league in 2017/2018, and was promoted again to the adult league, and the end of his career with the Turkish club was in December 2018, after a long absence due to injury.

In January 2019, the Iraqi Al-Shorta signed Dhurgham, who contributed that season to the team winning the Premier League and the Iraqi Super Cup, where he participated in 22 matches. In July 2020, he moved to Al-Zawraa for one season, after which he moved to Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in August 2021, then to Al-Talaba. In July 2022, he then had another external experience with the Bahraini Al-Khalidiya Club, with which he has been playing since last July 28 (2023).

At the international level, Dhargham participated with the under-17 teams, and participated with them in the 2009 West Asian Federation Championship, the 2010 Asian Junior Championship, and the under-20 team, where he participated in the 2011, 2012 Arab Cup, the 2013 World Cup, and with the under-23 team, where he participated along with it in the 2013 Asian Championships and the 2014 Asian Games.

In 2013, at the age of 18, Dhargham joined the Iraqi team participating in the 21st Gulf Cup in Bahrain, at the call of coach Hakim Shaker. He played his first match against Yemen and scored a goal. He contributed to Iraq’s qualification to the final of the tournament, but lost it to the UAE.

Dhargham also participated in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, the 2014 West Asian Federation Championship, the 2015 Asian Cup qualifiers and championship in Australia, the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in Russia, the 2019 West Asian Federation Championship in Iraq, and the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers. He also participated in the 25th Gulf Cup Championship. Which was hosted by Basra, by recalling Jesus Casas, who was relied upon mainly, and contributed to achieving the fourth Gulf title for Iraq, which had been absent since 1988, making it the second international team for Dhargham Ismail.
