The career of Kuwait’s best goalkeeper in the Gulf 20

Although he is a goalkeeper, he is considered among the best Kuwaiti blue players throughout history. He has a career full of achievements. He was chosen to be the captain of the Kuwaiti national team in the Gulf Cup 2007. He was also chosen as the best goalkeeper in Al-Wasat newspaper poll in 2008, and he won the award for best goalkeeper. Also he won the award of the best Goalkeeper in the Gulf Cup 2010, in the twentieth edition of the tournament, which was hosted by Aden, Yemen.

He is Nawaf Khaled Al-Khatimi Al-Khalidi, who was born on May 15, 1981, in Kuwait City, and started his football career at Khaitan Club and stayed from 1997 to 2001. He played 46 matches with the team.The Czech Milan Machala chose him for the list of the national team participating in the 1998 Gulf Cup in Bahrain. Although he was the third goalkeeper, the Kuwaiti team won the title.

In 2000 AD, Nawaf Al-Khalidi moved to Al-Qadisiyah Club, and played until he announced his retirement in 2017, where he played 325 matches, and won many championships, as he won the Kuwaiti League title 9 times, the Crown Prince Cup 7 times, the Emir Cup 7 times, and the Al-Kharafi Cup twice, The Gulf Cup for Clubs once, the Kuwaiti Super Cup 4 times, and the AFC Cup once.

Al-Khalidi was in the Kuwaiti national team in the 2000 Summer Olympics, and the 2004, 2011, and 2015 Asian Cups, and announced his retirement in 2017 at the age of 36.
