Al-Nahda of Oman loses the first leg of the second round of the preliminary round of the King Salman Championship for Arab Clubs
Al-Nahda Club of Oman, the champion of His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup and the leader of the local league competition (Omantel), lost the first-leg match in the second round of the preliminary round of the King Salman Arab Clubs Championship, against Al-Ahly Tripoli of Libya 4/2, in the match that was held at the Martyrs’ Stadium in Benghazi.
The first half witnessed Hurricane Libya scoring 4 consecutive goals, which were opened by Anis Selto in the minute (14), Muhammad Mounir (21), Noureddine Al-Qalib (29) and Ahmed Al-Tarbi (48).
Al-Nahda managed to reduce the difference in the first half through first-team player Al-Mundhir Al-Alawi, before the other international Omar Al-Maliki added a second goal in the second half.
Al-Buraimi Sports Complex in the Sultanate of Oman will host the return match on May 29, which will determine the team that qualifies for the group stage, in the group that includes Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia, Al-Sadd of Qatar, and Moroccan Wydad.
It is noteworthy that the role of the groups will be held in the assembly system next summer in the cities of Abha, Taif, and Al-Baha in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
