Saudi Arabia leads the first group in Khaleeji Zain 25
The Saudi national football team succeeded in topping the first group of the Zain Gulf Cup 25, which kicked off in Basra on Friday, after defeating the Yemeni national team 2-0 in the match that took place in the Sports City Stadium. The Saudi national team scored its two goals in the 18th minute through Samihan Al-Nabit.
And the 34th minute, by Musab Al-Juwair, from a penalty kick, after the player Samihan was fouled inside the penalty area.
The Saudi national team, which consists of most of its players from the Olympic team, forced its Yemeni counterpart to retreat, relying on the rebounds, which on more than one occasion would have shaken the Saudi goal had it not been for the brilliance of the Saudi goalkeeper.
In the second half, neither of the two teams succeeded in scoring despite the availability of some opportunities, whether for the Saudi team, which wanted to increase its scoring yield, but it did not succeed, while the Yemeni team wasted more than one easy opportunity to reduce the difference.
Thus, the Saudi team won the first three points at the beginning of its competitive career and topped its group, which includes, along with Yemen, Iraq, and Oman.
