Chelsea are champions of the FIFA Club World Cup “UAE 2022”

Chelsea won the Club World Cup for the first time in its history, by beating Brazil’s Palmeiras 2-1, in the match that brought the two teams together on Saturday evening, at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, in the final of the tournament, hosted by the UAE.

Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku and Germany’s Kai Havertz scored from penalty kicks, while Rafael Vega scored the Brazilian representative’s only goal from a penalty kick.

Palmeiras ended the match without the services of Luan Garcia, who received a red card in the 120 + 6 minute.

Chelsea lost the title in 2012, when they lost the final to Corinthians, Brazil, with a goal without a response.

The match for third place, which was also held on Saturday, at Al Nahyan Stadium in Al Wahda Club, witnessed Al-Ahly of Egypt crowned with the World Cup bronze, to be the first team to win bronze three times in the Club World Cup, after defeating its rival Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia 4-0, scoring the goals of the African champion, Yasser Ibrahim “double” in the 8th and 17th minutes, Ahmed Abdel-Qader “40”, and Amr Al-Sulayya “64”, and Al Hilal played with nine players since the first half hour, after Mateus Pereira was expelled in the 14th minute, before Mohamed Kno joined him in the 28th minute.
