During 3 seasons .. Saudi Arabia will host the Spanish Super

The Spanish Super Cup will start tomorrow, in Saudi Arabia, for the second time in 3 years, from January 12-16.

Four clubs will participate in this edition of the tournament: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and Athletic Bilbao, with the golden square system.

Tomorrow, in the semi-finals, Real Madrid, the La Liga runner-up, and Barcelona, the Spanish Cup winner, will meet at King Fahd International Stadium in the capital, Riyadh, which has a capacity of 70,000 spectators, while La Liga champions Atlético Madrid will face Athletic Bilbao, the runners-up of the Spanish Cup, on Thursday at Mrsoul Park. The stadium recently hosted a meeting between Barcelona and Boca Juniors in the Maradona Cup, with the final match scheduled for Sunday.

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia hosted the Spanish Super Cup from January 8-12, 2020 in Jeddah, which was won by Real Madrid, after it managed to beat Atletico Madrid on penalties, at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, while the last version was held in Spain, due to the circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, Athletic Bilbao crowned it with a 3-2 victory over Barcelona in the final.
