In the 7th round of World Cup qualifiers.. Iraq faces Iran with ambition to win
The Iraqi national team is preparing in the Iranian capital, Tehran, for a difficult confrontation tomorrow against its Iranian counterpart, in the seventh round of the final qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Lions of Rafidain enter the meeting while they are fifth in the first group, after losing to South Korea in the last round 0-3, followed by the apology of the former coach Advocaat for completing his career with Iraq before the start of the Arab Cup tournament hosted by Qatar recently.
The Iraqi professionals, France Zia (Denmark), Muhannad Jaaz and Amin Al-Ammari (Sweden), were in Tehran to join the team, and Zeljko Petrovic, the technical director of Iraq, is counting on the physical factor and fighting spirit of the Lions of Mesopotamia, and the injury of some of the competitor’s stars with Omicron, to overcome Iran’s obstacle, especially with the low chances of Iraqi team to qualify for the World Cup.
