Legacy and FIFA issue the progress report on the sustainability of the 2022 World Cup

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy and the International Football Association (FIFA) announced the issuance of a report reviewing the achievements in observing the aspects of sustainability during the ongoing preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, which will start at the end of this year, and for the first time in the Arab world and the Middle East.

The issuance of the progress report on the sustainability of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ comes in the context of the importance that sustainability occupies in preparing for the organization of the World Cup from the beginning, in light of the possibility that preparing for major sporting events will leave a sustainable legacy represented in a better environment and a fairer world for future generations.

The content of the report is available to the public via the Internet, with the possibility of updating it with new developments, for the first time in the history of the World Cup, which provides an opportunity for the Supreme Committee, FIFA and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ to inform the tournament partners of all developments related to sustainability efforts on the way to preparing for the World Cup, and highlighting the most prominent achievements in this field, the new report will be updated regularly, and replace the first version issued in late 2020.
