Iraq wins over Kuwait in a friendly match

The Iraqi national team defeated its guest Kuwait, with two goals to one, in a friendly match that brought them together at Basra International Stadium. The game was part of the teams’ preparation for the double Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup.

The Iraqi team overturned their delay with a goal to win two goals. Kuwait took the lead in the 22nd minute through Eid Al-Rashidi, before the Iraqi team responded with two goals in the 78th minute through Muhammad Daoud, and in the 78th minute Ayman Hussein crossed from a penalty kick.

The Iraqi team tops the group standings in the Asian qualifiers with 11 points, while Kuwait is second in Group Two with 10 points.
