Al Hilal qualified for the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League

Al Hilal Saudi Club qualified for the semi-finals after renewing its superiority over its compatriot Al-Ittihad with a score of 2-0 at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League 2023-2024.

After the first half ended in a goalless draw, Al Hilal scored the winning goals during the second half through Yasser Al-Shahrani (61) and Malcolm (90 + 5).

Al-Ittihad completed the match with ten players after striker Abdul Razzaq Hamdallah was sent off in the first minute of stoppage time in the second half.

In the group stage, Al Hilal topped the fourth group standings with 16 points from six matches, compared to 13 points for Uzbekistan’s Navbahor, and 6 for Iranian Nasaji Mazandaran, while India’s Mumbai City FC remained devoid of points, then it won in the round of 16 over Iranian Sepahan 6-2 in the aggregate of the two matches.

On the other hand, Al-Ittihad topped the third group standings with 15 points from six matches, compared to 10 points each for Iran’s Sepahan II and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya III of Iraq, while Uzbekistan’s AGMK remained devoid of points, and won in the round of 16 over Uzbekistan’s Navbahor by 2- 1 on aggregate.
