An exciting draw for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024

The defending champion Saudi Arabia was drawn in Group 3 in the AFC U-23 Cup Qatar 2024 finals.

This came after the draw of lots was held today, Thursday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, where the Saudi national team will play against Iraq, Thailand, and Tajikistan.

On the other hand, the draw placed the host Qatar in the first group, along with Australia, Jordan and Indonesia.

The second group was strong, as it included Japan, South Korea, the UAE, and China, while the fourth group included Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Kuwait, and Malaysia.

The tournament will witness the participation of 16 teams competing to win the title of the sixth edition of the tournament, which will be held from April 15 to May 3, 2024 in Qatar.

The teams that finish in the first three places in the tournament qualify to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, while the team that ranks fourth will move on to participate in the global playoff, facing a team from Africa, in order to have the opportunity to participate in the Olympic Games.

The list of participants in the finals includes the host Qatar, in addition to 15 teams that qualified by participating in the qualifiers last September, and they are the 11 teams that topped their groups and the four best teams that finished in second place.

The teams participating in the tournament were divided into four groups, with each group containing four teams, competing in a divided league system of one stage, and the first two teams from each group qualifying to the quarter-finals.
