In the King Salman Cup for Clubs 2023.. Al-Shabab and Al-Nasr Saudis complete the contract for the qualifiers to the quarter-final round

The contract for the teams qualified for the quarter-final round of the King Salman Cup for Arab Clubs 2023 has been completed, as the Saudi Al-Shabab and Saudi Al-Nasr teams have reached the next stage of the competition’s life.

In the third group, the Saudi Al-Shabab defeated Al-Ittihad Al-Monastiri, Tunisia, with a goal without a response, and the Egyptian Zamalek tied with the Saudi Al-Nasr, 1-1.

Al-Shabab’s goal against Al-Ittihad Monastir was scored by Ever Banega, while Zamalek’s goal came against Al-Nasr through Ahmed Mustafa, before Al-Nasr equalized with a header from Cristiano Ronaldo.

With these results, Al-Shabab occupies the top of the group standings table with 7 points, followed by Al-Nassr with 5 points, and they qualified together to the quarter-finals.

In the fourth group, a positive tie settled 1-1 as a result of the Algerian youth Belouizdad match with Kuwaiti Kuwait, while Moroccan Raja defeated the Emirati Al-Wahda with a goal without a response.

The goal of Raja’s Al-Nasr against Al-Wehda was scored by Zakaria Al-Wardi, while the goal of Shabab Belouizdad was scored by Islam Belkhair, and the Kuwait team tied through Taha Yassin.

With these results, Raja ranks at the top of the group standings table with 9 points, followed by Al-Wehda with 6 points, so that the two teams qualify together for the next stage.

Quarter-final teams

The Saudi Al-Ittihad and the Iraqi Al Shorta qualified from the first group, from the second group Al-Sadd Al-Qatari and Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia, and from the third group Al-Shabab Al-Saudi and Al-Nasr Al-Saudi, and from the fourth group each of Moroccan Raja and Al-Wehda from the United Arab Emirates.

Al-Shorta and Al-Hilal to the golden square of the King Salman Cup for Arab clubs

The Iraqi Al-Shorta succeeded in overturning its delay with a goal against the Qatari Al-Sadd to win 4/2, in the quarter-finals of the King Salman Football Cup hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, so that Al-Shorta would be the first to qualify for the semi-final round.

Al-Sadd advanced with a goal by Akram Afif in the 24th minute, but Amir Sabah equalized for Al-Shorta in the 32nd minute.

In the second half, Aso Rustam scored the second and fourth goals for Al-Shorta in the 59th and 78th minutes, and Ahmed Farhan ensured that the third goal was scored in the 70th minute, before Akram Afif scored the second goal for Al-Sadd in the 81st minute.

In a second Gulf confrontation, Al-Hilal reached the semi-finals after defeating Al-Ittihad 3/1.

Al-Hilal took the lead in the 14th minute through Savic, from a corner kick by Ruben Neves, to head the ball into the net.

Al-Hilal succeeded in obtaining a penalty kick after blocking Delgado inside the penalty area, which was successfully translated by Salem Al-Dosari in the third minute of the counted time instead of lost for the first half.

In the second half, Al-Ittihad succeeded in returning to the match with a goal by Romanino in the 56th minute, from Igor Coronado’s cross, but Malcolm succeeded in scoring the third goal in the 70th minute, while Karim Benzema missed a penalty kick for Al-Ittihad in the 79th minute.
