Walid Ali.. The career of the first Kuwaiti professional in the Iranian league
One of the most prominent elements of Al-Ameed the Kuwaiti team, the fast leftist who excelled in powerful shots, one of which gave Kuwait its tenth title in the Gulf Cup, the painter who gave up his hobby for football.
He is the star of Kuwait Club Walid Ali Hussain Juma, who was born in November 1980 in Kuwait City. He started his football career at Khaitan Club from 1997 to 2004. He represented the first team at an early age and is considered among the youngest players to score goals in the history of the league competition, before moving to Kuwait in 2004, and he played for it on loan in the Unified Arab Championship for Clubs in Cairo a year earlier, and his career extended with him until 2015, during which he played on loan period in 2011 to Iran’s Esteghlal Tehran.
After his brilliance with Khaitan, the major clubs competed to win his services, led by Al-Qadisiyah, Kazma, Al-Tadamon, and Kuwait. Although he signed the transfer form to Al-Qadisiyah, Khaitan directed him to Kuwait and ended the agreement, which he described as the most serious, to begin a period of brilliance with the Al Ameed during which he achieved all the championships.
The left wing contributed to Al Ameed achievement of many local and continental achievements during the 11 seasons he spent with it, as he won the league title 5 times, the Prince’s Cup and the Crown Prince’s Cup, and externally he was crowned the AFC Cup 3 times.
At the international level, the West Asian Games in Kuwait 2002 was Walid’s starting point with the Kuwait team, where he contributed to winning the gold medal, before leading the team to the final qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup in Germany with his famous goal against China, in the match in which he participated as a substitute after an injury of some players, where he was not in the starting line-up.
Walid Ali was distinguished by his strong shots, and one of them gifted Kuwait’s Blues their tenth title in the Gulf Cup after defeating Saudi Arabia in the final of the 20th edition.
