Al Hilal and Sharjah win the AFC Champions League

Within the AFC Champions League 2022, the defending champion Saudi Al Hilal club won the second successive victory, after it defeated Al Rayyan of Qatar 3-0 yesterday, Monday, at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, in the second round of the first group competitions.

Abdullah Al-Hamdan (27), Muhammad Kanoo (49) and Nasser Al-Dosari (87) scored the winning goals for Al-Hilal SC.

Thus, Al Hilal is at the top of the group standings with 6 points from two matches, compared to 3 points for Al Rayyan.
The third round of group competitions will be held on Friday, where Al Hilal, Al Estiqlal, and Sharjah meet Al Rayyan.

The first-placed team in each group, along with the best three second-placed clubs in the Western groups, qualifies for the Round of 16 for the West Asian Zone.

And in the second match in the same group yesterday, also, the UAE’s Sharjah, met with the Tajikistan’s Istiklal at King Fahd International Stadium, and Sharjah won its first victory in the 2022 AFC Champions League, with two goals to one.

The Tajik team advanced with a goal in the first half through Alisher Gilov, before Sharjah scored two goals through Kayo Lucas in the 54th minute and Bernand in the 57th minute.

Sharjah raised its score to 3 points in second place, and in the next round, Al Rayyan will face Qatar at King Fahd International Stadium.
