Results of the second round of the 10th West Asian National Championship

The Emirates team lost to its Syrian team 0/1, in the second group of the 10th West Asian Federation Junior Championship, which the Omani Federation is looking forward to, at the Al Saada Complex Stadium in the city of Salalah. Abdul Rahman Dinawi scored the only goal for the Syrian team, which scored its first 3 points, and it was the same as the Emirati national team balance.

In turn, the teams of Saudi Arabia and Jordan tied 2/2, in the match that was held for the same group, raising Jordan’s score to one point, while the Saudi team to 4 points in the lead.

Jordan’s goals came from Mahmoud Al-Tamizi, and Al-Walid Al-Awfi and Abdullah Hazazi scored for Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi team previously won the first round over Syria with two goals to zero, while the Emirati team beat its Jordanian counterpart with a clean goal.

In the first group, today, in the third and final round of the first round, the Yemeni team and its Lebanese team will meet at five o’clock in the evening, Oman time, then the Omani and Iraqi teams will meet at eight o’clock.

The Yemeni team was the first to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament after its score reached 6 points, while the Omani team’s score remained at 3 points, which is the same as the Iraqi team’s score, and finally the Lebanese team’s score remained without a score.

The second round witnessed Yemen’s victory over Oman with an unanswered goal, and the Iraqi team outperformed its Lebanese counterpart by three clean goals.

Before that, Yemen beat Iraq 2-1 in the first round, which also witnessed Oman beating Lebanon 1-0.

The tournament will be held for the age group born in 2008, with the group stage being held in one stage and the first and second in each group qualifying for the semi-finals, then the two winners from this round will advance to the final match.

The Jordanian national team holds the title of the ninth edition of the tournament, which was hosted by them in the city of Aqaba in the summer of 2022, by winning the final match over its Lebanese counterpart, who finished as runner-up, 1-0.

On the other hand, the eighth edition of the tournament was held in Saudi Arabia at the end of 2021, and at that time witnessed the Yemeni team winning the title at the expense of the host on penalties.
