Results of the Gulf teams in the second round of the joint Asian qualifiers
The second round of the joint Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup continued on Tuesday, as the Qatar national team achieved its second successive victory after defeating India 3-0 away from home at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, within the second round of Group 1 competitions in the second round. From the Asian qualifiers, Mustafa Meshaal (4), Al-Moez Ali (47) and Youssef Abdel-Razzaq (86) scored the winning goals for the Qatari team.
Within the same group, the Kuwaiti national team defeated Afghanistan 4-0 at Al-Ittifaq Club Stadium in Dammam.

After the first half ended in a goalless draw, the Kyrgyz national team was able to score the valuable winning goal in the 49th minute through Odiljon Abdurakhmanov.
Malaysia was alone at the top of the group standings with 6 points from two matches, compared to 3 points each for Oman and Kyrgyzstan.
While the Iraqi national team snatched a valuable victory outside its home stadium when it defeated Vietnam 1-0 in the match that brought them together at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, in the second round of the sixth group competitions, and substitute Muhannad Ali scored the valuable winning goal for the Iraqi national team in the seventh minute of time instead of lost for the second half.
Iraq was alone at the top of the group standings with 6 points from two matches, compared to 3 points for Vietnam, and a point each for the Philippines and Indonesia.
The Saudi national team achieved the second victory after defeating Jordan 2-0 away from home at the Amman International Stadium in Amman, in the second round of the seventh group competitions, and Saleh Al Shehri scored the winning goals for the Saudi national team in the 9th and 31st minutes.
Saudi Arabia maintained its lead in the group standings with 6 points from two matches, compared to 4 points for Tajikistan, and a point for Jordan, while Pakistan’s balance remained devoid of points.
The Yemen national team won away to Nepal 2-0 at Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu, in the second round of the eighth group competitions, and Omar Al-Dahhi (72) and Muhammad Al-Dahhi (90 + 1) scored the winning goals for the Yemeni team.
The second match in the same group also witnessed the UAE’s victory over Bahrain 2-0 away at the Bahrain National Stadium in Manama.
Abdullah Ramadan (37) and Ali Mabkhout (90 from a penalty kick) scored the winning goals for the UAE national team.
The UAE national team raised its score at the top of the group standings to 6 points from two matches, compared to 3 points each for Bahrain and Yemen, while Nepal’s score remained devoid of points.
