A triple lead in the Yemeni league before the end of the first leg

The matches of the fifth round for the first group teams and the sixth round for the second group teams concluded, in the first leg of the Yemeni Football League for the 2023/2024 season.

Al-Ahly Sanaa topped the standings of the first group, whose matches were held at Al-Wahda Club Stadium in Sana’a, and the partnership between Al-Wahda Sanaa and Salam Al-Ghura was at the top of the second group, whose matches were held at the Sayun Olympic Stadium.

Despite Ahly Sanaa’s 0-0 draw against its neighbor Al-Orouba in the fifth round, it maintained its lead in the first group with 7 points from (3 matches), and Ittihad Ibb comes in second place with 6 points from (4 matches), then Al-Orouba, which played 4 matches in which it scored 5 points, Willya Tadamon Hadhramaut has 4 points, Samoun has 3 points, and Hilal Al-Hudaydah is at the bottom of the group with 2 points from (3 matches).

Competition is fierce in the second group, as Wahda Sanaa and Salam Al-Ghurfa share the top spot in the group with 7 points from (4 matches). Yesterday, Al-Salam stumbled by losing to the defending champion 3-1 in the match that brought them together at Sayun Olympic Stadium, and Al-Wahda had tied with a goal.

The defending champion, Fahman Abyan, ranks third in the group with 6 points, followed by Shaab Hadramaut with 5 points, then Shaab Ibb and Yarmouk with 4 points.

The final round of the second group matches is scheduled to begin on Saturday with a match between Yarmouk and Shaab Hadhramaut, then Sunday with a match between defending champions Fahman and Shaab Ibb, and the first leg of this group will conclude with a match between the leaders and runners-up Al-Wahda and Salam Al-Ghura, next Monday.

While the first group has two rounds left to decide the first leg.
