Younis Ali, Al-Masakni, Al-Tiri and Olonga win the Federation’s awards at the closing ceremony of the 2023 season

Yesterday evening, the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) at Qatar Foundation witnessed the holding of the Qatar Football Association Awards Ceremony for the 2022-2023 season, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association and President of the Qatar Stars League, a number of gentlemen guests also attended; from the International Federation of Football Associations, the Asian Football Confederation, club presidents, sports personalities, representatives of club companies, technical and administrative staff, coaches, players, and representatives of the media.

During the ceremony, the most prominent stars of the season were honored with various awards, which were as follows:

Bid medal

It is a new honor launched by the Board of Trustees of the Qatar Football Association Awards, as it is the highest honor presented by the Council, and is awarded to personalities who make distinguished contributions during their journey to the development of football at various levels, whether sports or administrative, and the Board of Trustees of the Qatar Football Association Awards decided to award the Medal of Attitude this year for:

Mr. Engineer Hilal bin Jaham bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari – may God have mercy on him – President of the Aspire Zone Foundation, who left behind a rich record of giving to serve the country in all various other forums and projects, including: stadiums and sports facilities for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

And Mr. Saud bin Abdulaziz Al-Muhannadi – may God have mercy on him – Vice President of the Qatari and Asian Football Associations, a member of the FIFA Council, who was one of the most important distinguished Qatari sports administrative cadres, as he worked and participated in the development and successes of football, whether local or Asian.

Football for All Award

It is the award that is presented annually by the Board of Trustees of the Qatar Football Association Awards to entities or individuals who contribute to spreading the culture of football in society, where the Ramadan Cup won the award for this season.

Best Referee Award

Obtained by the crew consisting of:

Abdul Hadi Al-Asmar Al-Ruwaili – Best Square Referee – Juma Muhammad Al-Borsheed – Best First Assistant Referee – Abdul Majeed Al-Karbi – Best Second Assistant Referee – Abdul Rahman Al-Jassim – Best Video Assistant Referee (VAR)

Mansour Moftah Award (The Scorer)

Kenyan star Michael Olonga, striker of Al-Duhail Club, won the award by scoring (22 goals) during the QNB Stars League for the 2022-2023 season.

Best player under 23 years old

This award was crowned by Al-Rayyan club player Osama Al-Tiri, who received the highest percentage of votes, after a strong competition with both Jassim Jaber, the player of Al-Arabi club, and Khaled Muhammad Saleh, the player of Al-Duhail club.

Best coach award

The award was won by the national coach of the football team in the Arab Club, Younis Ali, who received the highest percentage of votes.

He excelled in the number of votes, after competing with the Argentine Hernan Crespo, coach of Al-Duhail Club, and the Spanish Marques Lopez, coach of Al-Wakra Club.

Best player award

The best player of the season award was awarded to the Tunisian star and Al-Arabi club player Youssef Al-Masakni, who received the highest percentage of votes, after a strong competition with Al-Annabi star and Al-Sadd club Akram Afif, and the Kenyan sniper and striker for Al-Duhail club Michael Olonga.
