Souza: I focus on tomorrow’s match and thank the Iraqi fans
At eleven in the morning, Iraq time, in the Sayyab Hall at the Minawi Pasha Hotel, a press conference was held for Helio Souza, coach of the Bahrain national team, to talk about the upcoming Al-Ahmar match against his Kuwaiti brother in the last matches of the group stage for the second group, and Souza said: “The match will not be easy, winning the first match will be difficult.” In the past two confrontations, it did not mean winning easily. The tournament is difficult, and everyone aims to win. We will try to do our best. We played two matches to win and succeeded, and despite that, we have not qualified yet. We have to fight in every match. The Kuwait national team has a new idea and performs well, as the match will not be easy.
He added: “Our goal now is to win tomorrow, and later we will think about the next. We take each match separately, and we focus on tomorrow’s match. Winning tomorrow means qualifying for the second round.
And he added: “I have 23 players in the tournament, and they are all essential.” If you want to move forward in the tournament, you have to rely on everyone. This is what we depend on.
Souza said: “I focus on my group; it is not possible to talk about the semi-finals now, but we are ready for all confrontations.”
The player, Walid Al-Hayyam, said about Abdullah Youssef wasting chances and introducing him to the penalty kick: “The match is 90 minutes.” In the penalty kick, we trusted Abdullah, and he was up to the responsibility. We came and aimed for the championship, but we take things step by step. The coach always supports us by saying, “Always raise your head, and you still have time.”
