Assistant coach of Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Al-Ruwaie: “Our goal is the title, and the Iraqi fans will be a motivator for us.”

A press conference was held at 11:50 this morning, Iraqi time, for the Saudi national team coach Saad Al-Shehri, which precedes the second round match for Al-Akhdar against his Iraqi brother in the second round of the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup hosted by Basra. The assistant coach, Ahmed Al-Ruwaiei, attended instead of Al-Shehri.

And about the difficult confrontation against Iraq, Al-Ruwaie stressed, we achieved a first victory; the Iraq match is difficult, but everyone has ambition, and we are fully prepared and respect everyone, and we aspire to present a distinguished match that honors Gulf football.

And about what the Saudi national team fears and what it has in store for the next one: There are only two days between every two matches, and everyone changes. We need everyone, and they are all qualified, and we do not fear anyone.

And about preparing for the difficult match against Iraq: We consider all players to be stars; there is no such thing as an auxiliary team; the Iraqi fans will be a strength that adds excitement to the match.

Do you have a full view of all your competitors? Yes, we read all the teams, and we aspire to the title like everyone else, but this is something that is difficult if we take each match separately.

And about the short period between matches: correcting mistakes takes time, but we use the shots; we did not make a lot of mistakes; it is only the lack of harmony, and with each match, the performance will develop.

For his part, the Saudi national team player, Saad Al-Nasser, said: “The Iraqi fans have all the appreciation.” They are used to public pressure, which helps them provide the best performance.
