The Saudi national team starts the Riyadh camp in preparation for the Zain 25th Gulf Cup, and Al-Mashal meets with the players.
Yasser bin Hassan Al-Mishal, the chairman of the Saudi Football Association’s board of directors, met with the Saudi national team’s players and staff at the team’s residence in Riyadh yesterday, outside of the training camp held in advance of the 25th Gulf Cup in Basra, which is set to begin on January 6.
Al-Mishal appreciated the players’ high degree of discipline for enrolling in the camp, praised their level of keenness and tremendous interest in representing their nation as best they could, and wished them luck in the Gulf Cup competition.
On the field, “Al-Akhdar” started its practice yesterday evening in its camp in Riyadh with a training session at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium. The players applied a tactical exercise on building under high pressure, followed by a maneuver on two-thirds of the stadium’s area, under the supervision of the team manager Saad Al-Shehri and the assistant staff.
On Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., the Saudi national team will conduct an exclusive media-free training session at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium.
It’s worth noting that the national team will play Yemen on Friday, January 6, to kick off its Gulf Cup participation, and Iraq on Monday, January 9. On Thursday, January 12, Al-Akhdar will face Oman.
