Launching the Qatar Media Portal to cover the events of the 2022 World Cup

A comprehensive electronic platform that allows media professionals and representatives of broadcasters to benefit from the facilities and services of the host country

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy has announced the launch of the Qatar Media Portal, a new digital platform that allows media professionals and broadcasters to benefit from a wide range of news sources provided by the host country, during coverage of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, which will start on November 20.

The new website provides exclusive content from the host country, and facilitates the media, who will attend the World Cup, to obtain many services; among them are requests for press interviews with spokesmen for the Supreme Committee or representatives of the relevant government agencies, studio reservations, and requests for media tours.

Ms. Fatima Al-Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Communication and Media Department at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, said that the Qatar Media Portal is a valuable source for media professionals and representatives of broadcasters from all over the world, to cover the World Cup competitions and the accompanying events, during the first edition of the global championship in the region.

She added: “We look forward to receiving thousands of media professionals and representatives of broadcasters, to participate in covering the events of the historic tournament, and we are pleased to put in their hands the best services and the necessary facilities that guarantee them an exceptional media experience.”

The portal provides an integrated platform for obtaining entry permits to Qatar (the Haya card), and filming permits for all media professionals and representatives of broadcasters who will be covering the tournament, whether they hold permits from the host country, or the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), and representatives of media rights holders from FIFA and not holders of media rights. It also allows obtaining permits from the host country for media not accredited by FIFA, in addition to facilitating customs clearance procedures for equipment and mobile devices (except for applications related to drones or drones).

In addition; users of the Qatar Media Portal can access the video archive and photographs of the host country, and the portal will serve as an approved source of content for media professionals and broadcasters’ representatives, as well as journalists from outside Qatar who wish to cover matches and events of the tournament.
It is expected that thousands of media professionals and representatives of broadcasters will participate in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and a large number of them will obtain permits from the host country to cover the events of the tournament, where they will have the opportunity, and for media professionals accredited by FIFA, as well as media representatives who hold media rights, and those who do not hold media rights. From FIFA, to focus on the social and cultural aspects of the tournament, local news and events, the country’s achievements and its ambitious development aspirations, including efforts to build a sustainable legacy for the World Cup in Qatar, the region and the world.

It is noteworthy that the permit of the host country for media professionals does not allow its holder to enter some of the official sites of the tournament, such as stadiums, training stadiums, the main media center, and the global broadcast center, but it will allow them to enter world-class media facilities, including the media center of the host country in the city of Msheireb Downtown Doha, and broadcast studios occupying central locations across Doha.

Fifa-accredited media professionals, media rights holders and non-rights holders, who have filming permits from the host country, will be able to enter the FIFA Fan Fest and the Host Country Media Center.

All media professionals and representatives of broadcasters can use public transportation for free during the tournament period.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy invites media representatives and broadcasters wishing to obtain a host country permit to quickly register through the Qatar media portal (media.qatar2022.qa/ar), to benefit from the services and facilities provided to them during the tournament.

Media and broadcaster representatives who are still pending approval of FIFA accreditation, media rights holder permits, or non-rights holder permits from FIFA should not submit applications on the Qatar Media Portal for permits until they receive notification from FIFA.
