The Joker, who excelled in attack and defense, a distinguished playmaker, was the legend of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf, Arabs and Asia with the testimony of international coaches. He participated with the Saudi Green in the World Cup in the United States of America 1994, and scored two goals that contributed to qualifying for the second round. He also participated in the World Cup in France 1998. He played the FIFA Club World Cup with Al-Nasr in 2000.
He is the legend Fouad Anwar Amin Amin, who was born on October 13, 1972. He played with the Saudi Al Shabab Club throughout his football career before concluding his career at the Saudi Al Nasr Club.
Fouad Anwar started with a little-known team, Al-Ahmadi, but Al-Shabab quickly registered him in the junior category, and since his first meeting with Al-Shabab in front of Diriyah, he scored three of the six goals in the match, which prompted the youth management to escalate him to the first team directly, and his first official match was against Al-Qadisiyah.
Anwar joined the junior team participating in the World Cup finals in Scotland in 1989, and contributed to winning the title for the first time in the history of Arab teams. In the same year, he joined the youth team participating in the World Cup finals hosted by the Kingdom and Portugal won the title.
Since 1991, Anwar began his career with titles and the beginning was local. He is the first Saudi leader to raise the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques League Cup with its new name, the Saudi League in the years 91-92-93 with the youth team, then local titles rolled, and he also achieved the Crown Prince Cup in 1996 with the youth. On the external front, Anwar achieved with Al Shabab the 1992 Arab Clubs Cup, which was held in Qatar at the expense of Al Arabi Qatar 2-0, the Gulf Cooperation Council Clubs Championship title in 93 and 94 in Riyadh and Kuwait, respectively, and the first Arab Elite Cup in 95 in Riyadh.
Anwar became famous when he helped the Saudi team qualify for the first time to the 94th World Cup finals in the United States of America, and there he recorded his name in golden letters by scoring the first Saudi goal in the World Cup, specifically against the Netherlands, giving Al-Akhdar progress in the match that ended with the Netherlands winning two goals against a goal.
In the second match against Morocco, Anwar scored the winning goal with a long shot into the Moroccan net to be chosen after the end of the World Cup in the list of the best 22 players in the tournament. After the World Cup, the Saudi star led the team in the twelfth Arab Gulf Cup in the UAE in the same year to win the title for the first time in its history.
Anwar was chosen, along with goalkeeper Hussein Al-Sadiq and Muhammad Al-Khelaiwi, to represent the national team in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, after the decision to use three players who were over the legal age (23 years).
Anwar was the first Saudi player to have a professional experience outside his country, which was represented by his professionalism in the Chinese club Shuang, but his experience did not last more than 8 months. Then he returned to join Al-Nasr Club for one million and 300 thousand riyals, and in order to complete the march globally, he had the honor of participating with Al-Nasr in the first World Club Championship that was held in Brazil at the beginning of 2000, and he scored a goal against Morocco’s Raja Casablanca in the match that ended with the victory of Al-Nasr by four goals to three.
