Gulf and Iraqi football lost one of the most prominent names of the Rafidain Lions, a member of the 2007 Asian Cup Champions Battalion, and the gold medalist of the West Asian Games, the scorer defender, Haider Abdul Razzaq.
Haider Abdul Razzaq was born in the capital, Baghdad, on June 9, 1982.
He played in the position of defense, and began his football career within the ranks of the Iraqi students, which gave him the opportunity to play at the professional level in 1999, by choosing coach Nizar Ashraf, and his first participation was against the Air Force, and he appeared remarkably, and he defended the students shirt for 12 years, and he also played for Dohuk Al-Zawraa, Karkh, and Sulaymaniyah.
Abdul Razzaq began his professional career outside Iraq from the Qatari Al-Ahly gate, which he did not last long, and then joined the Lebanese Al-Ansar club.
Haider Abdel Razzaq’s career witnessed many transitions between Arab countries, including Syria and Lebanon, as well as Kurdistan, which witnessed the hanging of his shoes in 2014.
The late also had the opportunity to represent all teams, as he was called to the junior team participating in the Asian Championship in Doha, and the team won fourth place, and was among the youth team that won the title of the 2000 Asian Championship in Iran under the leadership of coach Adnan Hamad, and in 2001 he represented the youth team in the World Cup finals in Argentina, but the team was eliminated from the first round, and in 2004 Adnan Hamad summoned him to be part of the national team participating in the West Asian Championship in Syria.
Haider Abdul Razzaq was crowned with the Iraqi clubs and national team, where he succeeded in crowning the Iraqi league champion with the students in the 2001-2002 season, which also saw him win the cup title in the country.
With the Iraqi national team, Haidar won his first international title after the team was crowned champion of the West Asian Federation Cup in 2002, and was on the verge of obtaining an Olympic medal in Athens 2004, but the Iraqi team concluded its campaign in the Olympic Games by occupying fourth place at the time.
One year later, Abdul Razzaq won the gold medal in the West Asian Games, and entered the history of Iraqi football in 2007 after he was one of the elements of the team crowned champion of the 2007 Asian Cup, under the leadership of Vieira, which is the only title for the national team in the tournament, and his last participation with the first team.
