The Asian Football Confederation opens the door for expressions of interest in hosting the 2023 Asian Cup

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced on Tuesday that it has opened the door for all member associations to express an interest in hosting the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

In the wake of China’s apology for hosting the 2023 Asian Cup, the AFC General Assembly, during its 32nd meeting, granted the authority to the administration in the AFC to set the conditions and requirements for submitting the nomination files, with the aim of finding an alternative to host the tournament.

Following the conclusion of the filing process, the AFC management will submit a report on its recommendations to the AFC Executive Office, in order to select the new host for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

The deadline for submitting an application to host the 2023 AFC Asian Cup is June 30, 2022.
