The opening of the Gulf Sports Games in its third edition in Kuwait

The third Gulf Sports Games of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which will be held in the State of Kuwait during the period from 16 to 31 May, officially opened on Sunday evening, at the main covered court of (Rafael Nadal) Academy in the Sheikh Jaber Al-Abdullah International Tennis Complex, and the opening ceremony was held in the official presence of their Highnesses, and Excellencies from various countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and a number of heads of federations, organizations and regional and international sports and Olympic bodies.

The concert carried the slogan “a renewed youthful approach that imposes its reality for the first time,” and included many paragraphs and pieces from the Conservatory, while the first paragraph of the concert carried the children of the neighborhood playing in the street and symbolizing the youth of Kuwait yesterday, so that the scenes became more organized and developed into more and more impressive skills, and this is all related to the desire to progress and develop, then followed by the flavors of games segment, which carries the presentation of all the six Gulf countries (Sultanate of Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait) through six two-minute videos to give a flavor to each culture, All the videos were linked to a one-minute performance on stage, followed by the speech of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Olympic Committee Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al-Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and then the opening of the session was officially announced.

After that, the Rhythm of Games segment was shown, where the audience immersed themselves in this important moment by presenting presentations for 16 sports games participating in the tournament that combine live performance and sports fitness, after which one of the players performs the session’s section, to conclude the ceremony’s paragraphs by watching “together we can”, where the rituals of unity were revealed in an amazing moment where everyone gathered on the stage in a harmonious way of show and dance, so that the children merge into the elite team, countries mix, borders are abolished, and the power of teamwork, unity and solidarity for progress is discovered more among themselves.

More than 1,700 players representing the six Gulf countries, namely the Sultanate of Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain, as well as the host Kuwait, will participate in this third edition of the tournament. The course will witness the holding of 16 individual and group games, namely: handball, volleyball, basketball, futsal, swimming, athletics, karate, judo, fencing, archery, tennis, bicycles, ice hockey, table tennis, electronic games and padel sports, and for the first time in its history the women’s component participates in line with the global system in force in international continental sports tournaments and tournaments, and women participate in 7 games, which are futsal, cycling, athletics, table tennis, tri-basketball, electronic games and padel sports.
