The UAE futsal team continues its final preparations for the Asian qualifiers
The UAE national futsal team continues its final preparations in its internal camp in the Emirate of Fujairah for the Asian Futsal Qualifiers, which will be hosted by Fujairah from 5-7 April, and qualifies for the 2022 Asian Cup in Kuwait.
As part of the preparation programme, the UAE national team played a friendly match against Japan yesterday at the Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah, and ended in favor of the guest team (2-1).
National coach Abdel Raouf Al Marzouki praised the players’ performance against the Japanese team, which is one of the best strong teams in Asia, and the atmosphere of the match, which witnessed great excitement, noting that the team’s final preparations are going as planned, and that they gain many benefits from them, especially related to technical performance and way of playing elected.
The UAE will host the West Asian qualifiers, which includes Group A (Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Oman), and Group B (UAE, Bahrain, Iraq), and the teams in the two groups compete to win five seats in the finals, where the first two teams from each group qualify to the finals, while a play-off match will be held between the two third-placed teams in the first and second groups in order to determine the team with the fifth card.
The UAE national football team will start its qualifying campaign on April 5 by meeting Iraq, and in the second match it will meet Bahrain on the 6th of the same month.
