An exciting draw in the AFC U-23 Cup finals.. Find out the results for the Gulf teams
The Saudi national team, the runners-up in Group D, will face the UAE, Japan and Tajikistan in the 2022 AFC U-23 Cup finals in Uzbekistan.
This came after the draw, which was held on Thursday in the Uzbek capital Tashkent.
On the other hand, the defending South Korea team came in Group C against three teams from the ASEAN region, namely Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
The second group included three teams from the West Asian region, namely Jordan, Iraq and Kuwait, as well as the Australian team.
The draw came strong for the host Uzbekistan, as it plays in Group A against Iran, Qatar and Turkmenistan.
This tournament constitutes a prominent stop for future stars in Asia, and is being held for the first time in the Central Asian region, where Uzbekistan will host 32 matches in the cities of Tashkent and Qarshi, from 1 to 19 June.
Sixteen teams will participate in the tournament, divided into four groups, with the first two teams from each group qualifying for the quarter-finals.
The tournament will witness the participation of 4 teams that have previously won the title, along with 9 teams that have reached the semi-finals before, while Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are participating for the first time in the finals.
