The Iraqi Football Association presented the coach of the national team, Abdul Ghani Shahd, to the media, today, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the federation, in the presence of the second vice president of the federation, supervisor of the national team, Younis Mahmoud, and member of the federation, the official spokesman, Ahmed Al-Moussawi.
At the outset of his speech, Al-Musawi congratulated the opening of Al-Zawraa Stadium, which will be an important step for the development of the club in all aspects.
He added: The Executive Office agreed to the recommendations of the National Teams Committee to choose coach (Abdul Ghani Shahd) to lead the national team in the next two matches against the UAE and Syria.
For his part, the Second Vice President of the Football Association, the supervisor of the national team, Younis Mahmoud, thanked coaches Advocaat and Petrovic for their efforts in the previous period.
Appreciating the position of coach (Abdul-Ghani Shahd) for accepting the task of training the national team in its two matches against the UAE and Syria in the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
For his part, the national team coach, Abdul Ghani Shahd, said: I thank the Executive Office for giving it confidence in me to take over the task of coaching the national team.
Emphasizing: His work will focus on winning the third card. He asked the sports media to support the national team in its next career.
He explained: I have no red lines for any player serving the national team, and there will be a training camp for the national team that will start on the tenth of next month, interspersed with an international friendly match on the seventeenth of the same month in preparation for the UAE and Syria matches.
