Zayed Al Ameri.. Emirates World Cup icon
A remarkable attacking talent, characterized by high skills, his talent appeared strongly in the AFC U-23 Cup, when he scored 3 goals, including a distinguished goal against North Korea, and was nominated by the Asian Confederation in a list of 20 players for the award for the best young continental player, he is the icon of the ball, the first Emirati player to score against the samba net, was Mabkhout Al-Saghir, as the public nicknamed him, Zayed Al Ameri.
Zayed Al-Amiri was born on June 14, 1997, and graduated in the age group stages of Al-Jazira Club since the age of ten, all the way to the first team, coinciding with his joining the first team list in August 2019.
About 8 years after his first World Cup goals, with the junior team, in the U-17 World Cup, UAE 2013, Zayed Al Ameri, the Al Jazira club wing, regained the memory of the World Cup goals, when he opened the scoring in the fifth minute, against Tahiti’s AS Perai, in the first match of the Club World Cup (UAE 2021), which ended with Al Jazira winning 4/1.
Zayed Al Ameri’s early goal, in which he took advantage of a smart pass from Mohammed Jamal, crowned him the star of the match award, paved the way for the broad victory of Abu Dhabi’s pride. He was a key player in the list of Dutchman Marcel Kaiser, and VAR prevented him from calculating two goals that would have increased his goals number.
Zayed Al-Amiri, scored a goal with the junior team against Brazil, in the match that was held at the same stadium (Mohammed bin Zayed at Al-Jazira Club), on October 20, 2013. His name was written as the first Emirati player to succeed in visiting the samba team’s net in official matches, at the level of national teams.
Al-Jazira’s attacking star still has a favorable opportunity to increase his yield from the World Cup goals in the upcoming difficult confrontation against Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup.
