AGCFF Competitions Committee holds second meeting

DOHA: The Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) Competitions
Committee has finalized the rulebook for the Gulf Cup; it emerged in
the meeting chaired by Dr. Hamid Al Shaibani.

The draw for the tournament will be held 90 days prior to the tournament,
while determining the exact date will be left for the host member
association.

The next edition of the Gulf Cup will take this winter in Qatar.

It was recommended that two events for the youth football be
introduced even if Kuwait’s participation in the events was not
guaranteed at the present stage.

Hamid al-Shaibani, the Competitions Committee head, said he remained
optimistic that suspension of Kuwait would be lifted soon.

The Executive Committee of AGCFF will meet on the sidelines of the AFC
Congress meetings in early May.

The AGCFF was established in 2016 and is headquartered in Doha, Qatar.

Led by President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, and
coordinated by General Secretary, Jassim Al Rumaihi, the federation
owns the region’s two most prestigious club and country competitions.

Member countries include Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi
Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
