Saudi Arabia’s lead… the results of the Gulf teams in the fourth round of the World Cup qualifiers

Saudi Arabia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Iraq participated in the fourth round of the final qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In that round, Saudi Arabia maintained its position at the top of Group B, taking advantage of the Australian kangaroo stumble against Japan 1/2, after beating its guest China 3/2, two goals by Sami Al-Naji, and the goal of Firas Al-Braikan.

In the same group, the Omani Reds managed to beat their guest, Vietnam, by three goals against a goal which was scored first by the guests, but the red equalized quickly before the whistle at the end of the first half with the goal of Issam Al-Sobhi, then scored a strong return during the second half, scoring two goals through Mohsen Gohar, who missed a penalty kick in the first half, and Salah Al Yahyai scored from a penalty kick, and with this victory, the Omani raised it’s score to 6 points in third place.

In the first group, a positive 2-2 draw overshadowed the meeting of the brothers Iraq and the Emirates, which was hosted by Zabeel Stadium in the Emirati Al-Wasl club, where the Emirati Al-White advanced with a goal by Caio Canedo in the 33rd minute, and the Al-Rafidain Lions Amir Al-Ammari tied in the 74th minute, and Iraq advanced with the second goal Ayman Hussein one minute before the end, while Ali Mabkhout equalized in stoppage time, thus placing the UAE team fourth in the group with a goal difference from the Iraqi, who is in fifth place.
