Salem Al-Dosari .. The Saudi star of the green enters his thirtieth decade

Saudi Arabia’s left wing Al Hilal Salem Muhammad Al Swailem Al Dosari was born on August 19, 1991 in Al-Aflaj, then moved with his family to Riyadh due to his father’s working conditions.

He started practicing football at an early age, and joined the youth team, under the leadership of Nayef Al-Anzi, and did not score, then he joined the Barcelona Academy for a short period, to develop his abilities, but it did not last long. He also trained with Al-Faisaly for a week, then went with his colleague Ibrahim Asiri to Al-Nasr and trained with them for only one day.

Al-Dosari landed in Al-Hilal Club in 2011, through his friend Munif Al-Shahrani, who had a good relationship with Faisal Al-Farshan, the Olympic administrator of Al-Hilal at the time, and the coach was the German Stump, and Al-Dosari played the first match against Najran.

He played his first match with Al Hilal’s first team in front of Al Nasr, where he entered as a substitute to give the coach the last 18 minutes of the match, and succeeded in scoring Al Hilal’s third goal. The match ended with three clean goals for the Asian leader. He played the first full match against Al-Ahly in Jeddah, in which Al-Hilal lost (1-0). German coach Doll was convinced of his abilities, who gave him the opportunity, so that Al-Dosari set out and showed remarkable levels, and he was one of the main reasons for the leader to achieve the 2012 Crown Prince Cup for the fifth time in a row.

In 2018, the Saudi Sports Authority announced the departure of 9 players to Spain to join different clubs in the Spanish League and the Second Division in order to prepare them for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and among them was Al-Dosari, who joined Villarreal, and on January 21, 2018, Villarreal announced the inclusion of Al-Dosari on loan for 6 months. On February 2, he joined the participating list in the European League, before facing Lyon in the round of 32.

Al-Dosari participated with Villarreal in the last round of the league against Real Madrid, after he entered as a substitute in the second half, and the team was two goals behind. Al-Dosari presented himself strongly through good touches and contributed to the return to the meeting and achieving a tie, ending the match (2-2), then returned to Al-Hilal with the start of the 2018/2019 season.

Frank Rijkaard called him up for the Saudi green in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers squad, in which he scored a goal, and made a great match in his first appearance with Al-Akhdar against the Australian national team before the Saudi team fell (4-2) in that painful match, which ended with Al-Akhdar’s exit from the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

In June 2018, Al-Dosari was selected in the final squad for the Saudi national team to participate in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Salem scored in the last match of the first round of the Saudi team before their exit, the second goal in the last seconds of the match against the Egyptian team, to end the meeting with the victory of Al-Akhdar against the Pharaohs (2-1).

On January 8, 2019, Salem played the first match with the national team in the Asian Cup and managed to score the third goal in the match that ended with the Green Falcons winning (4-0), becoming the fifth Saudi player to score in the World Cup and the Asian Cup after Saeed Al-Owairan, Sami Al-Jaber, Yousef Al-Thunayan and Yasser Al-Qahtani.

Salim, the pomegranate of Al Hilal, received many professional offers, including an offer from Sheffield United, which is owned by Prince Abdullah bin Musaed, the former head of the Sports Authority.

The news also reported that he received an offer from Newcastle, (England) but Al-Dosari is currently continuing with Al-Hilal, with whom he started the new season, and his contract with them extends to June 2022.
