Jafal Rashid leads Al-Annabi to the Gulf Cup 15th crown and snatches the best title
In the 15th Gulf Cup held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2002, the star of the Qatar national team, Jafal Rashid, who was the most prominent star of the Gulf league, shone.
Jafal Rashid played as a back and center midfielder in that tournament. Although he was less than 30 years old at the time, he was a captain with distinction and led his country to the top of the standing table before the final match, where the Qatari team finally lost 3-1 to Saudi Arabia to win the Gulf title.
The Qatari strategy, which came by one point difference from the champion, and which was not resolved except in the last match, came after a lot of effort from the Qatar national team headed by the captain, Jafal Rashid, who was crowned the best player in the tournament. The award was a testament to his remarkable brilliance. He later stated that this award was the closest individual award to his heart, in addition to his golden record with Al-Annabi, who won the 11th Gulf Cup in 1992.
Jafal Rashid was loyal to the Qatari Al-Sadd club shirt throughout his football career from 1992 until his retirement in 2009, during which he succeeded in winning the Qatari League Championship four times, the Emir of Qatar Cup six times, the Crown Prince Cup four times, and the Gulf Cooperation Council Clubs Cup title.
