Al-Trabelsi … Achievements and a Gold-Encrusted March with Kuwait

Ahmed Kharkov Al-Trabelsi is the name associated with guarding the Kuwaiti national team. Many years have witnessed his brilliance in the various Gulf and Asian championships.

Born in 1947, Trabelsi’s journey to glory began when he participated with the Kuwaiti Blue in the Gulf Cup championships where he won three consecutive Gulf titles, starting with the second Gulf championship in 1972, the third Gulf championship which he achieved with a clean sheet and the award for best goalkeeper, and the fourth championship.

Al-Trabelsi was also one of the pioneers of the Kuwaiti Asian achievement in the Asian Cup title in 1980 held in Kuwait which he completed with the historic arrival with Kuwait to the 1982 World Cup in Spain, before he announced his retirement from playing a year later after a busy local and international career, to move to training career until 1995.
