Renard: We are ready for tomorrow’s match against Qatar

Saudi Arabia’s coach Hervé Renard has said that tomorrow’s match against Qatar will be very difficult and strong, expressing his team’s readiness for this match.

“We are very happy that we are here. We came to the world of sport, enjoying the spirit as we do our work, and I hope it will be in the interest of sport in the region,” he added.

On the pressure to play at the South Stadium, he said: “There is no specific pressure. We are very happy to play in this stunning stadium, and always prefer to play in front of a large number of fans to feel the enthusiasm. We have a large and enthusiastic team as well as Qatar.”

He added: “I was in the Asian Cup and I watched Qatar play in Abu Dhabi. I know the quality of their players and coach. In football you need something solid and coherent, and we must be ready to face them tomorrow.”

Regarding the team’s performance from the first match, he said: “I think we are improving from the beginning of the tournament and this is good. The first game was difficult for several circumstances. We lost several chances, the games against Bahrain and Oman were different because we gained experience. Players from Al Hilal, and you know that Al Hilal will play in the Club World Cup. We know what we can offer, and it will be a difficult game for Qatar.”

“Qatar scores a lot of goals. They perform very well, especially in the transfer of the ball”, he said.

He stated: “We are not here for the benefit of the other team. Tomorrow evening you will see the strategy and plan to be followed, and I hope to beat the Qatar team.”

He concluded: “We always have a special conversation with the players before all the games. When you are a coach, you think about yourself and your team, and then think about the other team. This is normal because you play against champions. We also have a strong team and are ready for it.”
