Bahrain coach: We will play for a qualification chance

Bahrain coach Hélio Sousa said on Sunday that: “His team is trying to prepare for its potential to face Kuwait players who are fiercely.”

He added: “We faced Saudi Arabia, a strong team. We are at the bottom of the ranking and we are not in the best condition, but it is in our hands, and we will play on the opportunity that we have.”

“We came to experience win and coronation. We always have to be at the highest level and take advantage of our strengths.”

“We have 23 players and we want them to be at their best to compete,” Sousa said.

He added: “We are struggling in this group because we are trying to build a strong team. All games are difficult at the physical, technical and moral level, and the format of the games accelerated and many players are not used to it.”

Sousa clarified that Bahrain plays mainly on defense and the opponent’s mistakes. “We always try to keep up with the opponent’s mistakes. We are not waiting for them in our region as we used to before. It will not be easy with Kuwait.”

He concluded: “We are building an identity, and we need time to win in these tough games. Our defeat against Saudi Arabia was the first in the last games, but we faced a strong team and we are not immune against loss. We will prepare for the next game as well as the future.”
