Thamer Enad: We did not come to the championship to lose

Kuwaiti coach Thamer Enad said that the Kuwaiti Blue did not come to the Gulf 24 to take it easy and lose, and therefore showed ferocity today against the Saudi team and managed to snatch a precious victory against a stubborn and strong team (3-1).

“I congratulate our players and fans who have supported us madly today,” he said.

Regarding the impact of the euphoria of the Azraq players, he said: “We, as a technical and administrative team, are able to take the team out of the euphoria of victory, to prepare them for the important confrontations against Oman and Bahrain. This match is over. We must think about what is coming.”

Regarding the Omani team that Kuwait will meet in the next round, he said: “Oman is the previous hero and they are strong, We will prepare well, of course. In overall, all eight teams participating in the tournament have equal chances to win the title in the 24th Gulf, with the exception of Qatar, which has the advantages of the ground and the fans.”

On the impact of today’s match on the ceiling of Kuwait’s ambitions in the tournament, Thamer Anad said: “Our ceiling has not changed, we will work to play big games. We respect all teams. We came to compete, and we will give everything we have to get away in this Championship.”
