The election supervisory committee is finalizing preparations for the Gulf Congress

Members of the committee supervising the elections of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation began to arrive at the General Assembly and the election process for the positions of the President and Vice President, which will be held tomorrow evening at 9:30 pm at the Four Seasons Hotel in Doha, Qatar.

The committee supervising the elections is headed by Abdullah Al Hayani (Kuwait), who chaired the coordination meeting in the presence of a number of members of the committee in order to get acquainted with the final details of tomorrow’s event.

Despite the lack of competition of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani for the post of President of the Federation, and the nomination of the second Vice-President of the Omani Federation, Dr. Jassim Shukaili, for the post of Vice President.

The list confirms the non-declaration of victory by acclamation as the ballot must be held secretly tomorrow, and the need for the candidate to receive the majority of votes present at the meeting to be declared a winner.

Also the statute of the federation states that the general assembly should be held in the presence of a majority of 5 members. where it is expected the presence of the current President of the Union, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani (Qatar), Dr. Mohammed Khalil (Kuwait), Dr. Jassim Shukaily (Oman) Dr. Hamid Al-Shaibani (Yemen) and Tariq Ahmed (Iraq).
