Confirming the hosting country of the Gulf Arabs Cup 26 in Kuwait and choosing Iraq as an alternative country

The Executive Office of the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation held its first meeting in the Qatari capital, Doha, today, Tuesday, January 16, 2024, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, President of the Federation, and in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Saeed Al-Wahaibi, Vice-President of the Federation, and the members, Mr. Dr. Humaid Muhammad Al-Shaibani. Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Hazzam Al Dhaheri, Mr. Haif Hussein Al Mutairi, Mr. Dr. Khaled Abdul Aziz Muqrin, Mr. Rashid Abdullah Al Zuabi, Mr. Ali Jabbar Abdul Redha, and Mr. Jassim Sultan Al Rumaihi, Secretary General of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation.

After the end of the meeting, the Secretary-General stated the following:

1_ Confirmation of the holding of the “26th” Gulf Championship in the State of Kuwait for the period from 13 to 26 December 2024.

2_ Adopting the Iraqi Football Federation as an alternative federation to the Kuwaiti Football Federation to organize the “26” Gulf Championship, in accordance with the statute of the Arab Gulf Cup Federation.

3_ Creating new tournaments, referring the issue to the General Secretariat and the Competitions Committee, conducting a complete study and submitting it to the Executive Office.
