Iraqi League: Al Quwa Al Jawiya and Al Shorta share the lead
Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya achieved a major victory over Erbil 4-1 to continue its lead in the Iraqi Football League, accompanied by Al-Shorta, who won over Zakho 2-0 in the framework of the eighth round of the competition.
Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya had no difficulty overcoming its Erbil counterpart with four goals scored by Saad Abdel-Amir (42), Ayman Hussein (70) and Ali Jassim (75 and 80), versus a single goal that came from Zidane Abdel-Jabbar (89), while Al-Shorta beat Zakho with two goals from Mahmoud Al-Mawas ( 36 from a penalty kick) and Idris Niang (61).
Al-Zawraa defeated Dohuk with a hat-trick scored by Hassan Jabbar (15 and 78) and Collins Obari (61 from a penalty kick). Amanat Baghdad also defeated Al-Naft with a goal by Jassim Muhammad Jassim (90 + 1), and Al-Mina’ beat Al-Talaba with a goal by Sajjad Alaa (45).
Karbala outperformed Al-Karkh with two goals scored by Abdul Qadir Aziz (35) and Ahmed Khaled (45) versus a goal scored by Jaafar Kazem (83 from a penalty kick), while Newroz, for which Muhammad Sami scored (16 from a penalty kick), tied with Al-Kahraba, which tied with Dennis. Tetteh (90+1).
Al-Hudood also tied with Al-Qasim with three goals each. The former’s goals came from Ibrahim Ghazi (30 and 44) and Hussein Jassim (48), while the latter’s goals were scored by Falah Abdul Karim (16), Misoko Olmo (32) and Saif Al-Din Zaher (74).
The confrontations between Naft Maysan and Naft Al-Wasat and Najaf and Naft Basra ended in a scoreless draw.
