He is the Yemeni star Abdul-Wasi Al-Matari, one of the best playmakers who was part of the Yarmouk team that won the Yemeni League for the first time in the 2012/2013 season. He was born on July 4, 1994 and his love for football began early, so he practiced it in the neighborhood and at school, then his brother Ali enrolled him in the sprouts of the Yarmouk Club, which he played with in its junior, youth, and first team categories, he remained with the team from 2013 to 2015.
His professional journey began in 2015, when he moved to the Omani club Al Orouba, and stayed with them for three seasons, until 2018, then moved in the 2018/2019 season to the Emirati club Dibba Al Hisn, then returned again to the Sultanate of Oman in the 2019/2020 season through the Al Nahda Club portal, and in the following season he moved to Al-Nasr Omani Club, then in the 2021/2022 season he moved to the Omani Al-Ittihad Club in his fourth professional experience within the Sultanate of Oman, then he returned to Al-Nahda again during the last season 2022/2023, and with it he achieved two championships, His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup and the Omantel League, but he left to the Bahraini league last July through the Sitra Club, which contracted with him for the current season 2023/2024, after the Bahraini Federation’s decision to treat the Yemeni player as a resident.
At the international level, Al-Matari joined the Yemen national team in 2013 and since then he has been one of the main pillars, and the team captain also performs at remarkable levels with the first team.
