He is the star Qatari goalkeeper, Ahmed Khalil Al-Khalidi, who was born on October 17, 1972. He began his football career very early at the age of eight, when he joined Al-Arabi Club, engraving his name in golden letters, where he played a major role during his career with many popular clubs such as Al-Arabi and Al-Sadd. , Qatar Club, and Al Khor.
Al-Khalidi won many titles with the clubs, as he won the Al-Arabi League, the Emir Cup, and the Sheikh Jassim Cup. He was also crowned with Al-Sadd in the league championship twice with the title of best goalkeeper, the Emir Cup, the Crown Prince Cup, and the Arab Championship, during the 3 seasons he played with Al-Zaeem.
At the international level, Ahmed Khalil’s history was not devoid of achievements alongside Qatari club Al-Anabi. He was one of the most important elements of the 1992 Gulf title, and won the best goalkeeper award in the tournament. He also won the best goalkeeper award for Arab clubs in 1993 and 2000, and he participated with the Qatar national team in the 1992 Summer Olympics and the 1994 Asian Games.
After his retirement, Ahmed Khalil worked as a sports broadcaster on the BeIN Sports network. He also had successful managerial experiences with Al-Duhail and the first team, and was chosen as one of the ambassadors for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
