The first leg of the first round of the double qualifiers.. Yemen wins over Sri Lanka 3-0

The Yemen national team defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 at Damac Club Stadium in Abha, in the first leg of the first round in the joint Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Ahmed Maher (33), Nasser Al-Ghawashi (67), and Abdel-Wasi Al-Matari (90+3) scored the winning goals for the Yemeni team.

The return match between the two teams will be held next Tuesday at Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo.
