The Gulf Federation adopts its new name and sets the date for the 26th Gulf Championship in Kuwait

The Executive Office, headed by the President of the Federation, His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, approved the new name of the Federation (Gulf Football Association) instead of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation, at the first meeting of the office held this afternoon at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the State of Kuwait.

Members of the Executive Office discussed the topics on the agenda, as the date for holding the 26th Gulf Championship in the State of Kuwait in December 2024 was approved, as well as amendments to the statute and organizational structure of the federation.

The creation of new championships for the age groups was discussed, and a study will be conducted by the Competitions Committee, after consultation with the member federations, to choose the appropriate dates for holding them during the coming period.

The attendees, members of the Executive Office, listened to the report submitted by Mr. Jassim Sultan Al-Rumaihi – Chairman of the Inspection Committee, regarding the visit to the State of Kuwait to review the readiness of sports facilities and hotels to host Gulf 26. It was agreed to provide the Kuwaiti Federation with the committee’s report to review it and work on its implementation, as well as intensifying Visits during the coming period to follow up on the progress of work in various sports facilities, in particular construction work at Jaber Mubarak Al Sabah Stadium (Sulaibikhat).
